Which prop firms give you the best rules?

A sourced side-by-side of evaluation rules, payouts, and fees — sorted by Rule Freedom, a published formula, not an editorial “best of” list.

Prop traders deserve better. Too many comparison sites bury the rules that actually blow accounts, polish rankings that cannot be recalculated, and treat fee tables like marketing copy instead of facts you can check.

This site exists for a simpler standard: transparency and honesty first. Every figure you see is meant to be sourced, dated, and falsifiable — so you can judge a firm by its published rulebook, not by whoever paid for the top slot.

If you care about consistency rules, minimum trading days, news windows, and how fast you can withdraw, start with the table below. It defaults to Rule Freedom — the axis that rewards verified open rulebooks. Omen leads that sort on today’s verified inputs; FTMO leads Track Record on longevity. There is no composite “overall” score that mixes those into one ranking.

Every published number needs a source, a verification date, and a snapshot. Missing any of those shows as Not verified and drops out of scoring. That is intentional — better a visible gap than a guessed competitor rule.

What actually decides whether a program works

Account size and headline split get the attention. The rulebook decides whether you can trade the way you already trade.

  • Consistency rules. Soft or hard caps on how profit may concentrate across days or markets.
  • Drawdown model. Static, end-of-day trailing, or intraday trailing — and whether a separate daily loss limit applies.
  • Time and activity pressure. Evaluation clocks and minimum trading days change how you size risk.
  • News and weekend holding. Event traders need these in the clear before they pay a fee.
  • Payout friction. First eligibility, cadence, and whether the max split is the base rate or a checkout add-on.
  • Provenance. If we cannot cite it, we do not print it as fact.
